On Feb 1, TV3 unveiled
Newshub
- a multi-platform news service that covers radio, TV and digital channels owned by parent company, Mediaworks.
Focusing on the TV launch, the company said farewell to
3 News
which had been on air since 1989 to make way for
Newshub Live at 6pm
for the first time.
With the launch came a brand new set, graphics, radio bulletins, website and app.
To accommodate the new Newshub, MediaWorks renovated its broadcast hub in Auckland with a modernized newsroom and new Studio 1.

Filmed in TV3's Auckland Broadcast Hub, the space in Studio 1 includes two sets that are used for a variety of news and current affairs programs across Newshub.
The launch of Newshub also saw the introduction of the first News programme in New Zealand to broadcast in HD.

The main studio was designed by Jago Design, known for their design for the BBC, BBC World, Sky News and ITV - just to name a few.
Studio 1 includes the main news area and flexible current affairs area, along with standing positions and a weather wall.
