The BBC is an equal oppertunities employer so they have to consider all applicants - its a bit of a risk relocating to Hull for what could be such a short appointment. These people would need a rugged constitution and have no hang ups about having no news in a news programme. They would need to prove they have experience in producing bland and insipid programming however they have an excellent asset in the programme presenter.
He or she would also inherit a team of pretty decent reporters, journalists, VJs etc - who have already indicated clearly that they want to work on a much stronger programme.
Which now begs the question why the programme is so poor? Given that it is the stated aim of Helen Thomas (HLRP) and the ex editor to produce a news heavy programme. Does Mr Levy have that much power?
Peter Levy is effectively the Editor of the programme. He will be in for the shock of his life if a news oriented Editor is appointed in the coming months. The programme as it stands is shockingly poor. I am told that at least two journalists are now employed as full time 'celebrity bookers' to keep Levy's guest list stocked up with trashy has-beens
If they appoint a news oriented editor its likely that he or she will go the same way as Mr Punter.
Who is he?

Is it available on job share?
If so, I know a couple of people from Bristol who might just be suitable.
