…and finally

Asa, I'm a long time lurker, for well over a decade. So, this will be my first and last post. I finally registered a few years back to give some kudos. I've never contributed, but have always enjoyed reading the historical technical stories about how stuff ends up on our screens and following along with breaking news threads. I stumbled across this amazing part of the internet late one night when weird stuff started happening on BBC1 - turned out it was one of the last RBS standby tests. I've been hooked on the goings on of here ever since.

I will be gutted to see the forum closed to new posts but understand and respect your reasons. As someone who works in museums, I'm delighted you are leaving the posts up as an archive. There's some important historical stuff stored on these pages about major breaking news and how it unfolded, big technical breakdowns and the history of TV and presentation. This is social history and it is a useful reference guide to keep. The biggest Kudos to you for running it all these years, designing the backend, paying the hosting fees and moderating the posts with your volunteers without plaguing us with ads.

This year especially, the site has helped to keep me sane. I'll miss all of you who do actually post! Sorry I lurked and didn't speak sooner. So, a huge thank you to everyone who made this forum such an interesting one, but especially thanks to you Asa.
