Today, Argentina's Telefe, recently purchased by Viacom from Telefónica (parent company of O2), is relaunching their news operation, which is moving from their longtime studios at Calle Carlos Calvo in Constitución, in Buenos Aires proper, to their newly-built studios in Martínez, just outside the capital.
Nearly all of their bulletins are changing names:
Baires Directo
(their morning newscast) becomes
Buen Telefe
Baires en 10
, a ten-minute weather and traffic bulletin which aired before
Baires Directo
, is scrapped and absorbed by
Buen Telefe
Telefe Noticias 1ª Edición
(their midday bulletin) becomes
El Noticiero de la Gente
Diario de Medianoche
(their late news) becomes
Staff de Noticias
Their main 8pm newscast retains the name
Telefe Noticias
, but loses the nickname
Noti.20
they had since earlier this year.
