Last hour episode was around May time when they moved Corrie to 8.30pm on a Monday to boost Celeb Love Island.
I read the other day in the paper that the new director of programming (Simon Shaps?) at ITV is slashing Corrie and Emmerdale back to 3 nights a week (Corrie on Mon/Wed/Fri and Emmerdale on Tue/Wed/Thu) to make way for new "event television", it mentioned something about public outrage at less soaps on our screens but the good points outweighing the bad, oh I can't remember.
Only read it in the Doctor's.
It was only a small article besides, and will probably turn out to be bollocks. oh well we live in hope.

Random question here. I suppose it comes down to my bitter hatred of the double episodes:
Not including Christmas, can anybody remember the last 1 hour episode of Coronation Street, what time it aired and what day, and how this affected the other soaps? Probably the 40th in 2000.
Some highly interesting links here:

"ITV's director of programmes David Liddiment said: "Many people enjoy both EastEnders and Coronation Street - why would the BBC want to reduce viewer choice in this way?""
How hypocritical in light of recent Emmerdale/EE clashes.
Also worth noting Corrie is 45 today.
