Hello Westy.
I am Shaun - someone told me I'd been mentioned on here so i thought I'd come to see, and answer some of your questions.
Firstly, who am I - well, I run the BBC Shop at the Mailbox & can often be seen in the public space - if you visit Monday - Friday it's likely you will come accross me, I've been there since day one, and have been with the BBC for 4 years.
We have two sets of photo's on the Cafe walls - the ones behind the counter are addressed to Pablo - he runs the Cafe throughout the week. On his collection, he has kept a history of presenters who have visited his cafe past & present (not including the EastEnders cast pics!) and they have signed the pics for him.
On my collection, that is a collection of the present BBC WM // Midlands Today & BBC Birmingham Programmes famous faces. I try to keep this updated as possible. As you may have noticed, the WM pics are in the best order they can be in representing when each show is on Mon-Sun (so Mollie is first, and so on, with extras like Thrower & Walker at the end) Then it goes to Midlands Today, then Radio 2 & then some BBC programme personalities like Wogan (points of view) & Craven (Countryfile)
The Janice Long pic you saw is not an official WM card, they are still to be made & we will update that once they arrive - the one currently on that wall is from Radio 2. They only gave us a very small handful of presenter cards to give out when I went to their office to get them, as they had a short supply - so they were given away on a first come, first served basis.
I hold my hands up with the lack of Goldberg pics - we ran out & I haven't had chance to fill the box yet, but I'll pop up to the WM offices in the morning and raid the draw containing all rthe pics and get a full range of what they have left.
The reason we still have Gaunt & Manners in there is because people still ask for them on occasion - also, it would be a shame to waste them & throw them away, so I keep them and once they have all gone, they will not be replaced. This is also the reason we have two different shots of Shefali, some are the old cards & some are the new - we use them all up & try not to watse any - I mean, at the end of the day a pic of Shefali is a pic of Shefali, whatever position she is in
I have no idea why some of the newer pics were larger than previous...maybe they were experimenting with a new style - we have just had a fresh 2006 set of Midlands Today cards come in at the normal size, so maybe they will go back to normal - I just take them as they come. Cayte's photo is a little old now, and her appearance has changed, like many other faces (Alex Lester for example) but if we took a new photo everytime someone grew or cut their hair, it would be very expensive & time consuming!
If you would like me to send you a full set of Radio WM / Mids Today photocards Westy, private me your address (or private me for my BBC email address so you know im genuine) and I'll get them sent to you, or, if you would like signed ones of different presenters, you can write to them individualy at :

Well, did anyone go down to the Mailbox to have a look at the FA Cup ?
I did !
I took the opputunity to have a look upstairs as well, at the other displays, plus get some more photos too!
Intriguing to notice by the canteen area, there was a display of various BBC Brum personalities photos that were signed to someone called Shaun(whoever he is, some woman was behind the counter this afternoon!)
However, when you try to get a set of photos from the bird in the shop, all she had was certain ones, no pictures of Goldie (again!) & Janice Long, despite ones being on 'Shaun's board' !
(It's as bad as Travel West Midlands in Walsall Bus Station, where they never seem to have a complete set of Walsall area leaflets, or at best, photocopies of certain leaflets! And I had to go on the 51 to Brum as well, because they've stopped the 951 & the trains were on 'staff shortages' as well !)
They even still had pictures of Gaunt & Tom Manners in the box too, & they've left now, plus 2 different shots of Shefali too!
TVM, if you're reading this, how come some of the photos are bigger than normal? (I think Cayte's photo's out of date too, compared to the WM magazine picture of her !)
