No, I'd like GMB bring back the Newshour with Charlotte and Sean + the Saturday and Sunday 7 to 8.30 (live) with Ranvir (she's here all the weekend now with ITN) and after Aled. CITV takeover at 9.25.
But I dream...

Couldn't agree more. It's a half hearted attempt at taking in BBC breakfast, 7 days a week and more news would win it for me.

GMB isn't exactly rating fantastically at the moment, so launching it at the weekend is the last thing they need to be doing. BBC Breakfast rates much lower than usual on Saturday and Sunday. A Saturday edition of GMB would only attract 300,000 viewers at most. Not cost effective for ITV at all.

Wow, GMB took a new low this morning with CASH IN YOUR CORNFLAKES?! What is that all about? I'll be with the BBC from Monday after watching GMB/Daybreak/GMTV as a loyal viewer for many years.

You should put that on their Facebook along with the rest of the middle aged people...

In which case, stop slagging off your employer.

Or get back to how Good Morning Britain was on the first day - which was for a brief time a real serious competitor to BBC Breakfast - and stop listening to focus groups who only tell you what you want to hear.

Just because you work for ITV, you're not obliged to watch them (in your own time that is Cool )

To be fair, he's entitled to an opinion - at no stage within his post about GMB did he state that he was employed by ITV.

We wouldn't want him to lose his job now, would we?

Although I agree with Aaron above it wouldn't be cost effective to make the move at the moment I do think there might be potential with a weekend edition from 8-9.25am (with CITV from 6-8am), especially on a Sunday where the MOTD pre-empts Breakfast on BBC1 and gives the BBC News Channel it's highest rating of the week.

I don't think it's so much about making it a 7-day a week service as I think normal viewers couldn't care less, but it's about giving it a chance to attract eyeballs to the show that it doesn't attract in the week and possibly convert them to weekday viewers over time.
