I suspect a significant chunk of BBC3's audience are probably still completely unaware it is closing.

I showed some people the new logo today and they thought it said "BBC Two!" and one said "BBC Two and three-quarters". All of them didn't know it was closing either, one of them said "But where am I gonna watch my Don't Tell the Bride"

They said on sixty seconds news that it is moving online, Unless BBC3 viewers don't take any notice of that.

Tell your friend Don't Tell The Bride will continue on Sky 1.

Saying that "BBC 3 is moving online" is misleading so many people. They think it will continue as a stream and they have to go on iPlayer at a particular time to watch the stream of whatever show they want to watch. The amount of people I read on forums and Twitter who think this is what is happening soon is shocking. They need to much more clearly describe what is happening so everyone understands.

Yes the 'moving online' is confusing lots of people I agree. It isn't moving online, it's totally changing...

I think it would be more accurate to say that the channel is closing, but some programmes will continue to be available on iPlayer and BBC One and BBC Two...

'Moving online' really is the BBC equivalent of telling your children the dog has gone 'to live on a special farm', isn't it?

Lets be honset here within 20 years I bet nearly all channels will be online only, expect for a small number like BBC1, 2, ITV and CH4. BBC just getting ahead of the game.

BBC3 Cant be saved if it just filled with Repeats and US sitcoms.

BBC 3 never used to be full of so many repeats and US sitcoms as it is now.

The BBC have deliberately done this over the last few months in order to get the ratings down, to try and justify its closure.

Both Yahoo and Microsoft have closed down their own online video services in recent months stating they can't compete with television.

yet the BBC iplayer, Netfix, Amazon prime are all going great. Like all media there are winners and losses.

Though iPlayer figures are still small (low single digit percentages in many cases) in comparison to live viewing and catch-up via Sky+/Freeview+. Yes it's a great additional way to watch content. Not sure it's a great solution as the only way to watch content.

Netflix and Amazon are different as they are services you pay for specifically to consume via on-line means, and will have the ability to watch them prior to subscribing (i.e. own the kit and have a broadband connection).

I didn't even know they ever existed. That's probably why they closed down.

I mean, in general. Not just because I'd never heard of them.

I only know about yahoo because of Community series 6, It was claimed you could watch it on UK yahoo. Never could find it so ditch it for other means.

Netflix is going so well they never release any data about the numbers watching any programme. It might be profitable but just like Sky the audience isn't as huge as they'd have you believe.
