Whoever designed that stupid logo needs to hang their head in shame! I can't believe they spent £THOUSANDS on two lines and a exclamation mark!
I seriously doubt it cost thousands. It's been done in-house and will have cost next to nothing.

Though if it had been done externally, a few tens of thousands would of made it a more worthwhile rebrand than many others. Places, particularly shops, whose logo consists of just a word will spend tens of thousands for an agency to pick a font. I dread to think how much the new google logo cost. Also am I the only one who thinks that this logo has a resemblance to some of the BBC GEL Icons?

Are they trying to be edgy now? Piss and Goddamnit are in the article, like little boys trying to see how much they can get away with before being scolded by mummy and daddy. Rolling Eyes

Piss and Goddammit aren't exactly edgy nor that offensive and given their target audience I doubt they'd even be scolded by the strictest regulator. If it was CBBC then fair enough on 'piss' but I think even they could say 'goddammit'.

I detect a lot of indignation from the BBC within that page.

This dude just wants it to be neater, goddammit!

Are they implying that they could have made it neater?

In my opinion, neither BBC One, Two or Four need a re-brand. They look fine as they are.

Effectively, BBC Two had a retro-rebrand when they stepped back 20 years in 2014.

I think it's the inconsistency of the BBC Two brand that winds up a lot of people. It's either the font changing on endboards, always swapping the box on the idents, chronic colour schemes that always change etc. If they just took on what NI do, everything would be great.

It only winding up TV pres people do most common viewers give a toss? With BBC3 is there only two idents? Also stupid Q but when BBC3 moves online, will it just be like the Iplayer OR will it actually be an Online stream?

Apparently they're just iPlayer shows with BBC3 branding on them.

I don't think a lot of "commoners" give a toss about TV pres, especially when you consider the majority of them refer to the idents as "adverts" which is what I find. The few people I've discussed pres with pretty much say it's the programmes that matter and not what the logo looks like. I can't tell if that makes me feel stupid for caring about it, or superior for understanding an "art form" not many other people do...

I suspect a significant chunk of BBC3's audience are probably still completely unaware it is closing.

I showed some people the new logo today and they thought it said "BBC Two!" and one said "BBC Two and three-quarters". All of them didn't know it was closing either, one of them said "But where am I gonna watch my Don't Tell the Bride"

Not sure if this has been covered but will they be keeping an EPG slot and using it as an IPTV channel on the likes of Freeview like several Freeview channels are? So it just links to the stream.

No, there is a consultation to what will happen to the Freeview slots.

BBC Three will simply be a brand used for youth orientated VoD programming on BBC iPlayer and occasional slots on BBC One and Two.

There are plans afoot for an EPG reshuffle in Scotland, so that the STV Local stations can move to Channel 8 once BBC Three has gone
