Sky Guide

Sky Guide is looking quite dull at the moment. It really hasn't changed since the launch of Sky Digital nearly 5 years ago. Just given it a refresh, a couple new graphics touches and a style that should make it easier to understand for new users.

The font is the same that Sky are currently using on their internet advertising and on-screen monthly preview adverts.

ok - i'll start the ball rolling

i don't usually comment on people's mocks, but i have to say that these mocks are fantastic! i can really see these working on sky, and they are a natural progression from the basic, uninspiring tripe we currently have!

Although, I doubt the "creative" design people at sky could ever come up with something like this though

PS. on a related subject, i've noticed that they've changed the font on sky one active this week - from the wide font, to the standard active font.

I have to agree with you there, AJ. I don't usually comment on mocks, but these really are excellent. I wish they would implement them on Sky, or at least something better than the current ones.

One point though - If Sky were to relaunch their TV Guide, I would really like to see a listing by Channel, as well as listing by Programme, if you know what I mean...So you could either see it as a list of channels and programmes showing in the next couple of hours, or as a schedule for a particular channel, like the listings on BBCi Text as I often find it difficult to look for programmes that are on later with the current layout.

I have to say I agree. Sky Gide does need a refresh, and does need channel-by-channel listings, as well as the present now-and-next format.

I love these designs so much, I had a go myself!

I did design my own tweaked version of Sky Guide some time ago, and inspired by this thread, I went back to my old designs, and remade them to be nicer looking, as well as being possible to use On-Air...
