Excellent Ten tonight IMO. Clearly it's taking time for them to find the right balance between news and analysis, but this extended insight into the Shaker Aamer story is really eye-opening. Good to see they got Julie to conduct the interview...
Astonishing, ITV NaT delayed until 10:30 tonight for a 'talking heads' compilation of 90 minutes of Bond themes: the sort of meaningless schedule filler that the BBC reserve for their soon-to-be off air third channel.

I might get shot down for saying this, but maybe they're planning on axing NaT again? It has been News at When of late, very rarely starting at 10
It really does seem to have been worse in recent weeks (even putting I'm a Celeb to once side) though than for quite some time - and the revamp and all the talk that has come with it has only highlighted how much of a problem it is.
Hopefully it'll settle in the New Year - I guess the potential of Extra Time and possibly dwindling British interest will move the Champions League highlights to after News at Ten at least.

I'm not disputing the erratic scheduling, just fed up with the stupid talk of axing when it's quite clear that if they were planning to get rid of News at Ten, they wouldn't have bothered revamping it. To me it seems they're trying to figure out whether or not the Ten has become 'distinctive' enough for people to follow round the schedule - only it doesn't really work with a news programme. For credibility's sake they'd be better off just leaving it alone at 10pm come the new year.
