That's already been mentioned here. It's a BBC-produced cheap ass show.
Yes, they were going to use the same allocation (UHF 29) for both Reading and Basingstoke, which would have created a 'mush zone' in Tadley, a small town more or less equidistant from the two main towns.
Presumably, as Reading will still be co-channel with Oxford, it's Basingstoke that will adopt a new allocation.
Both services are to be transmitted from the same transmitter (Hannington) so I'd now expect the Tadley area will probably get reception of both services (lucky people eh !), and the Basingstoke service will now not be co-channel with London Live, so that'll make reception possible further 'up' the M3
I'm not sure what Reading's area will gain, probably Newbury and Thatcham, though that beam will be the one interfering with Oxford
Amazing how it's taken Ofcom this long to realise the bleeding obvious regarding the choice of Tx site for the York station, oh well, common sense prevails just in the nick of time !
Sheffield Live's studio has been knocked out by a power cut since 6.30PM tonight taking their live programming and website stream off air.
They finally managed to put a tweet out about it just before 8PM. Nothing on their website or Facebook page. (All three are shared outlets for the community radio station too).
I'd agree, had my house not been affected by the same power cut. Interestingly Radio Sheffield (two doors down from Sheffield Live) wasn't affected at all.
