Is it just me, or does it look like Ben has been edited in to that promo afterwards? He is the only one during the promo that appears on his own, and he seems to be under different lighting compared to the other four at the end.
Possibly, bit strange Ben wasn't in the shot around the desk until the end. Not sure he normally sits in that seat either! The new backdrop looks good though! Think Piers will shake it up GMB a bit, as the promo implies!
They tried that and it didn't work, viewers who watch GMB generally don't want a programme that's as 'newsy' as sky or breakfast, and aren't interested in swishy graphic noises, a big desk and constant one to one interviews, which some members on here want. Nor do they want a big red sofa, scatter cushions and an orange vomit set. I believe that GMB is evolving well, they aren't copying the GMTV format really, the balance between news and features is certainly improving and the content of the 6am show is practically identical to the daybreak newshour. Back in January when GMB was refreshed I wondered why they done it, but it's as simple as V1 didn't work out, viewers didn't want a newsy show. IMO, the show feels a lot more confident in its direction, it's not pretending to be something it's not completely different to GMB version 1. If they continue making tweaks, getting the balance right between news and features they could do well. Also, GMB is very good at covering breaking news events and has quite a few decent interviews with politicians etc, so credit where credit is due. However, you can't ignore the fact that sometimes trashy celebrity is covered too much, something which I hope doesn't happen too much in future. They should concentrate on being different to breakfast, more human interest/ features and news, a different alternative, in which they are.
also, I like the way they are marketing piers Morgan joining, it certainly is something different....

I couldn't agree more with you. Good morning britain is good with having a mix of hard news and entertainment as no one wants just news in the morning. People want to be eased in to the morning knowing what's happening around the world with some light hearted features. Personally, i view BBC Breakfast as a dull programme with presenters who struggle to crack a smile in the morning. GMB's on screen team work great together, kate, Ben,Susanna and Charlotte are well experienced journalists with character. We all have preferences and i respect those who like breakfast, But people really need to exept GMB for what it is which is a warming breakfast programme.
If the content is there, people will watch methinks. Whenever I've watched the programme (or should I say franchise), it's always felt too 'Mumsy' instead of trying to appeal to everyone. This along with too much so-called Celebrity nonsense makes it unwatchable for me. Though I do try and give it another chance every now and then as I find the BBC's effort dull and Sky's programme seems to have lost something in recent times. Don't get me wrong, lighter stories are good for Breakfast but I want decent 'hard' News too (including a couple of minutes quality Regional News per half hour to compete against the BBC...).
Whilst I enjoy the show, (and believe it to better than its rivals) I think the producers have made some mistakes.
Quietly pushing Kate above Charlotte, the new 6.25/7.25 entertainment slots, dropping the fourth presenter and axing the single presentation. Instead of sharing the news stories between the presenters, the show now relies on the "That's our Top Story, now here's ... with the rest of the day's news" format.
On a different note, the new rising sun background looks fantastic!

I see where your coming from but with Piers joining there will be a chance to bring a more journalistic format in to it. And I don't mind Kate Garraway at all and it even seems like Charlotte has willingly decreased her role to news presenter as that is her profession, Kate can present the news as well although she is more suited for the main presenter role.

Kate will surely drop down the pecking order when PM starts

Surely Ranvir out 'pecks' Charlotte and Kate. "I'm the f***ing senior chicken here, I've read News at f***ing Ten, I should be sitting over there reading out loud for 15 minutes with someone else (less important than me obviously) not sitting over here reading out loud for 5 minutes on my own"
Pecking order is a thing with hens, not people. You'll learn that when you grow up and work as part of a team, where the collective sense of achievement in the outcome overtakes any personal measure of involvement.
Surely, It doesn't matter to them who sits where and for how long. Why on earth does it matter to you?
