Can't find Huw Edwards' article on the Telegraph website, anyone care to upload it;)
SC
First of all, it isn't an article by Huw Edwards, it's an article about the 10pm bulletins and includes his comments in response to Tom Bradby's interview.
Secondly, it isn't on the website. It's in the newspaper. If the newspaper hasn't been thrown out, I'd be more than happy to post it here.
Finally, do you intend explaining why you think my comments are "codswhallop" [sic] and why you disagree with them? As I said, this is a forum for dialogue and discussion.

Good to see News at Ten has started bang on Ten again, not!

The ridiculous start time is making people turn off, before even hearing Bradby.
Brady said "Good Evening2at 10.05pm and I switched over to BBC to see Robert Peston!

What a sloopy exit from the live feed from the commons, his comments are dreadful, just shot him now.

First time I've watched since the second night and I still can't believe how bad this is. Bradby is just awful, it's not just the breathing that's annoying but the long pauses that almost seem like he doesn't actually want to be there. Plus his questions during lives are awful.
We can all moan about how bad he is, but I doubt that ITV News will do anything about it, those who watch ITV News at Ten, are stuck with him.

What I really can't understand is the overwhelmingly tabloid nature of the intros to reports. I'm all for a more relaxed approach to delivering the news, but I'm not sure going back down the tabloid route is necessarily the way forward, especially when it's been proven that each and every 'innovation' in news presentation in recent years has been more or less superfluous - viewers just want the news.
By comparison Bradby's presentation is still as rigid as ever though, having just cut off Rachel Younger in the middle of her sentence and moving straight onto the next story without so much as a "thank you". Bit awkward.

Seldom watch ITV News, so thought I'd watch it on ITV+1. Oh dear... It's not good is it?
Bradby's delivery is very "ITN" (random word emphasis that doesn't sound like anyone actually talks) but also very stumbly, full of odd breathing, and the voiced explainer was very shouty.
His two-ways sound scripted - almost as if he's waiting to be cued to read the next question. At times it sounds like a bad copy of a 90s US News show.
He still sounds like a reporter. Not a presenter. And the way he finished the Rachel Younger studio explainer. Basic stuff done badly.
