I look forward to watching future weeks of ITV News at Ten, instead of the dull BBC News across on One.

News isn't supposed to be entertainment, you wazzock.

Of course not but I don't think that's what StephenBailey was referring to. I'm sure you'll recognise that over the years news presentation has changed a lot. Recall how stuffy BBC News was 20 years ago, and go back further and you can read about how refreshing ITN was when it first appeared. More recently, Channel 5 back when it launched in 1997 - not so revolutionary now but certainly so at the time.

News presentation has always adapted to take advantage of new technology or to go after the next generation of viewers, whether you like the changes or not is up to you, but surely this is hardly any different to the examples I mentioned. These changes may well not be successful in the end but to me it just seems like another attempt at breaking the mould.

Who knows, we might be looking at BBC News bulletins 20 years from now and laughing at how "dated" and "old-fashioned" they are!

Just caught up with Julie's bulletin. The writing yes is very similar but it doesn't really matter - Julie's delivery doesn't make it sound patronising like Tom's. But this is just Tom's first week. Give him time to adapt to the role.

I think the programme as a whole is much better - we have an alternative to a standard round-up on the BBC and it's not just a duplicate of the Evening News. You have to remember had with people getting more and more of their news online as it happens, the idea that we need a bog standard news bulletin is starting to disappear. This provides additional analysis whilst still rounding up the day's news. I think this is certainly the right direction for the programme.

I would however like to see more live interviews rather than two-ways with correspondents.

I will.

Hopefully Tom has taken on some feedback and is developing nicely into his new role.

Believe me, I will! I am still really annoyed about what's happened. From now on, I'll be watching BBC News at Ten

I wonder will the reporters be saying "News at Ten" when they sign-off at the end of their reports on this Wednesday's bulletin, which is at 11.

It sounds like Gayanne as redone her V/O...sounds a bit disjointed.

Not to be snobby, but as a Broadcast Journalism alumnus of Leeds Uni (as opposed to Leeds Trinity in this clip), I can say none of us would have been so disrespectful and - for want of a better term - star-eff-y as to whip our mobile phones out in the front row and be taking photos/video during a guest lecture!

It'll just be a generic ITV News bulletin, it won't be branded as News at Ten.
