Enjoyed that a lot. Newsroom South East the best, Look Leeds the worst, the Midlands ones the most pompous, South Today the most like The Day Today. Can't decide if News West is lovely or ridiculous.
I reckon Spotlight is my fave, followed by Newsroom South East. What is with the presenters desk on Look East? Presumably the presenters can't move too much when the other one's on air as they're virtually shooting over their shoulder
It is a good demonstration of why the BBC wanted to give everything a consistant look, although the first attempts were a bit dull what they have now is far better than that mishmash

Although it's only when you see them all together that the lack of consistancy looks a problem. In reality people watched one region and it was a completely different show to the national news, so didn't need to share a look.
The later 90s was probably the best compromise though as many regions tended to lean towards the national news look themselves but did it in their own way, as seen in a few of the examples later in this video.
I know this has probably made an appearance before but stumbled upon this YouTube video, a documentary about the launch of cable channel L!VE TV.
Most of us know about the eventual tabloid version of the channel with Topless Darts and the Weather In Norwegian, but the original channel was (very briefly) something quite different.
Basically it was run by Mirror Group and part-funded by the cable companies who wanted a channel that could take on what was offered by Sky. Basically they hoped the Mirror would do for cable what The Sun did for Sky. There were plans for a sports channel, and they even put together an ill-fated bid for Channel 5.
There is a book about L!VE TV called L?VE TV which is a brilliant read and a must have for anyone interested in the industy.

The predecessor of Live TV (which incidently was originally going to be called 'London Live TV'), Wire TV planed to have a sports channel but it never happened, they did outbid Sky for the 1996 Cricket World Cup though

How the first day of the BBC One balloons looked liked in Scotland

Two points,
A: its was extremely unusual for BBC Scotland to be doing ANY CA on Saturday mornings, let along into Grandstand. most of the time the first link was for Comedy filler around 5pm.
B: SO the old News look was kept in place until the Monday 6th October then? If you notice there was NO endcap.
