Maybe to allow time for backdrop changes, time for the national presenter to prepare for the bulletin.
Anyone got any ideas as to why the ITV London news on a weekend has been ending a minute or so earlier than any other region? Seems a bit strange to me

I guess, but even on Sunday it ends early when the bulletin has its own presenter

I suppose they would need time to turn cameras round and like I say, prepare - talk to director, etc.

There is a lot of padding across the country, but not at the moment there isn't. With the rugby the bulletins follow immediately after each other.
Can the poster confirm if he is talking about in general, or this week?

It's been for a while, before the Rugby - even on days over the past few weeks where there hasn't been a match.

I saw the 1:30pm bulletin today and there was really nothing out of the ordinary at all as far as camera angles or mixes go.
On today's Lunchtime News, there was a lot more moving shots and crossfades than what has been happening lately, don't know if it is a new director and the way they work or part of the new ITV News.

seemed to be a lot of moving shots and the mix from the Nina's goodbye to the closing wide shot at least, was noticeably longer than usual.
