Haven't caught a whole episode yet, but she seems tolerable enough based on that clip. I suppose you can't get any worse than that colossal bellend they've got for the Australian one. The "supernerd" or whatever the hell they've called him.

Today was her first day and people were given a heads up in STV land with a nice promo. Even Ann tweeted about for this week.
Yes, they kind of set it up as looking like a poor debut (though I don't think she could have caught any of them anyway) and then the big comeback at the end. Will take some getting used to though - and very difficult for her to build her own character - the other Chasers are all fairly different and she seemed to be channeling a bit of most of them.
Something I've always wondered about Tipping Point. If no one wins money until the jackpot drop, why are they being given money in the last three rounds and not being able to take the money home once eliminated? Surely it would best to play the first three rounds as points rather than money?

Its used to build up your cash amount for the last round. Ie you make £2400 in the first three rounds thats your starting point in the last round. So if you dont get the £10'000 or dont go for the all or nothing gamble, you can take away what you have built up, maybe £4060.

More depends on the luck of the falling of the counters in the machine and their knockon effects later, as I've seen shows where a player reaches the final and they haven't reached a four figure sum by that point. £4060 can't happen, as the increments are £50 a counter, and £4k by the end of the game is not unheard of, but not that common. Most often the final players ends up with between £1.5k and £3k.
I thought the contestants who go out in rounds 1-3 did take home the money they had won until that point? Pretty sure I heard Ben say to a contestant something about being able to get a smaller version of something they wanted with their winnings...

That may have been a winning contestant or somebody who had a mystery prize (contestants keep the mystery prize(s) they win). The first three rounds in Tipping Point the show takes back the winnings/reset the score. This has been the case since the show's first appearance - early shows appear semi-regularly on Watch.
