It may surprise you but a number of Taggarts were either 2 hours longs or even shown in one go like Cold Blood, Double Jeopardy, Love Knot , ROGUES GALLERY, Violents DElights, BLACK ORCHID. for starters, non of these were never shown in 3 parts.
I am aware of that. That doesn't mean they didn't also edit three part stories into a single show, as I said.

I really hope there didnt since that would result in a lot of missing information out of the shows
I wouldn't be surprised too if it had already been repackaged as a film for international sales - it's not a subject matter that would probably sell too well as even a 2/3 part series, but as a film it probably had a better chance internationally.
I think that's probably right. It's no different to when they used to re-edit three part Taggart stories into one long episode and bill them, amusingly, as Taggart The Movie.
In any case, it got 690,000 viewers last night, and even though that's minus HD and +1 that's absolutely diabolical. Acclaimed and high quality it may well be, but it was clearly wrong for Saturday night.
That is really poor and it's no wonder ITV stick to their usual roster of movies. I do think there is a place for drama on Saturday nights, even if only repeats, but they either need to be either an easy watch or fairly male skewing to guide people through to MOTD (think they used to show The Governor and Ultimate Force on Saturdays, plus a spin-off from The Bill).
During Jeremy Kyle earlier today, the ITV generic breakbumper was on screen for about 10 seconds in 4:3. This was on Border England, did anyone else see this?

I doubt it, what on earth were you doing watching that crap in the first place !?

Someone's got to keep an eye out for breakbumper aspect ratio cock-ups. tweedledum watches Jeremy Kyle so no-one else has to, a selfless and vital public service.

Plus somehow its still better than the BBC offering at 09.30 on both its channels
I know the rule about presenters appearing in ads during programmes in which they feature has long been dropped (unwisely IMO) but did feel it was wrong to show the (very annoying) Carphone Warehouse ad with Keith Lemon during Through the Keyhole, especially as it is quite similar in style to his VTs in the show.
Apparently a few episodes before the summer break were from the new series where she was seen in the picking bit at the start, but she never walked out. This was the first time she's appeared.
