And to think all this could have been solved by simply putting a roof over St Andrews. Wink

Channel 5 can also confirm that Football League Tonight will continue in weeks where there is no Sky Bet Championship programme and will provide a special focus on the very best games in Sky Bet League 1 and Sky Bet League 2.

A very positive aspect of the new deal.

Yes the BBC started out with similar commitments which got watered down over the years.

Nice to see the Football on 5 brand back, shame there probably isn't anything meaningful they're going to in the near future in terms of live rights. But at least it'll feature Premier League sides with the League Cup highlights so all in all quite a nice package for the broadcaster.

Both ITV and the Beeb initially did shows at international weekends but both abandoned them due to lack of interest. Third time lucky, I suppose.

In other rights news the BBC will air Wales v Ireland and Wales v Italy live, with highlights of Ireland v Wales. S4C will only screen the Italy game live.

I believe BT Sport have the live coverage rights to Scotland's RWC warm up matches at Murrayfield.
