Did anyone think Charlotte was a bit out of place this morning with Kate and Susanna?

I wondered why Kate was sat in the middle seat and why Charlotte was on headlines - it should be the other way around.

Sadly that's the problem Charlotte is up against Kate and Susanna together has become the viewers liking.

Charlotte was suited to GMB v1 but the way the show has gone, she just seems too serious and IMO struggles to come across well with the lighter content. Charlotte was brilliant for the show initially, and I always rated her above Susanna but she just seems out of place now. Having said that, I do think she works well with Ben as he seems to bring out some of her personality.

She must feel slightly "pushed-out" at the moment with Kate taking the lead, but Kate comes across so much better and can present the hard and soft content equally as well.

What this show really needs is someone like Eamonn Holmes with another female presenter and have natural good chemistry. All these "setup" stunts like Susana dress coming undone etc.. with Kate Garraway shouting at you first thing in the morning is not very inviting. In my opinion it needs to be calm, warm, more natural BUT with more news rather than crying babies every morning as the top story.

I dont know why ITV have to poach people all the time (They should have learnt from Daybreak V1), what's wrong with some home-grown talent rather than people you seen before time and time again. The problem is Susana is alternating the viewers, Mums dont like her as shes to "business" and shes pretending to be "mum friendly" for GMB V2, the whole things just not natural enough and seems fake.

I feel that poaching is one of ITV's biggest problems as a whole. I totally agree with you that they should be looking at making their own stars and personalities. It would probably be cheaper for them in the long run...

A young Eamonn Holmes type presenter could be a start to making GMB successful. The last time I watched though, it was also the content that was sadly lacking. It's going to take something special to gain viewers from the likes of BBC Breakfast, Sky Sunrise and of course the Radio.

I'm sure 99% of people (yes even those ITV mums) want NEWS, not constant crap. They just need to present it to appeal to an ITV audience. They also need to stop these so called presenters that are just there because there presenters like Doctor Hillary, all that doctor stuff just seems "cheesy".

Lets hope it's not an all girl presenting line up next week, i think sean fletcher has more of a right to co-present than kate garraway. Surprised he hasn't quit yet seeing as his role in the programme has been reduced.

I think you'll find in TV, "rights" don't come into it. Instead, those presenters judged to have viewer appeal will get the opportunities, at the discretion of the programme editor.

It'll no doubt be costing GMB more in freelance fees to have Kate appearing so regularly than it would to use Sean as a main presenter. So they must have their reasons for doing so.

For my money, Sean hasn't shown himself to have the sort of personality and character required to pull off presenting this incarnation of GMB.

Yes you are quite right, gmb has changed too much compared to what it used to be and it doesnt suit sean so much, or Charlotte.

He hasn't been given the chance too though, which is a great shame. He now has a lower billing than Richard Arnold really. Indeed I'm surprised ITV still use the pic of the four of them when they promote the daytime line up every evening - doesn't really reflect the show anymore.

Charlotte now seems to have been knocked down the pecking order in favour of Kate as well - indeed that is probably a lawsuit waiting to happen as maternity leave is not supposed to adversely affect your role.

Kate is like a rash, you can try and get rid of the problem, yet she keeps coming back as a throwback to the safe GMTV era.

The same could be said of the background team too. It seems to be the problem with Breakfast TV that once a formula has been found to work that they return back to it after trying something new, when generally they're trying something new because the old model is no longer working.

Channel 4 had the same with The Big Breakfast that even transferred to a different production team when RI:SE Mk II tried to recreate the Big Breakfast.

It's a shame that they have become this as I felt that the GMB model was different, informative and entertaining. It's a shame that those mums that they aim to please didn't get it!
