Well I have to say the presenter they have reading the news on Big Centre TV at the weekend seems the best of the lot.

The Film Fest programme on Sat & Sun evening is another Latest TV acquisition on BCTV.

Latest TV & Big Centre seem to be sharing content, Big Centre have taken Under the Radar (a music show), Bored Gamers & Film Fest with Latest TV taking Cuppa TV. Still no takers elsewhere for David Hamilton ?

Bob Hall's found his niche. Reporting on a protest against a Mosque in Dudley. The presenter of the Saturday bulletin is neither a uni grad or old enough to retire. (A check of the Sunday bulletin namechecks her as Nina Blakemore).

Must admit, couldn't quite work out what the white strip was at the bottom of the frame initially. Then suddenly worked out it's not a stray graphics/ticker tape, it's actually a white-topped table. Thoughts then turned to why it comes up to her chest, and I suspect either taller chairs or a smaller table would benefit greatly.

Her presentation is quite good actually, compared to a lot of what's gone before. Could do with some weather graphics though, and possibly trim talking heads in the report, rather than use the entire segment, though I suspect this is more padding than anything else.

Back on Page 173, there's a wide shot of the desk.

Good package from Bob Hall, although I don't know what the camera operator thought they were doing panning away from the interviewee.

From today's Ofcom Broadcast Bulletin

The Mustard Show
Mustard TV, 18 March 2015, 18:30
Introduction
Mustard TV is a local television service for Norwich and surrounding areas. The licence for the service is held by Mustard TV Limited (“the Licensee”).
The Mustard Show is a daily topical magazine programme covering a range of local issues broadcast at various times of the day.
A complainant alerted Ofcom to the broadcast of offensive language during a pre-watershed episode of this programme. Having viewed the programme, Ofcom noted that when introducing a report about archaeological discoveries on a local beach (presented by her colleague), the presenter said the following:
“This is what happened when this c*** went to Happisburgh beach to look at some fossils or something”.
[...]
Ofcom noted the Licensee’s actions to mitigate the offence caused to viewers and to improve compliance. However the use of the word “c***” in this programme broadcast before the watershed was a clear breach of Rule 1.14 of the Code.

Editors – Parliament Hill
London Live, 5 April 2015, 11:00
Introduction
London Live is a local television station broadcasting news and entertainment programmes. It is owned and operated by ESTV Limited (“ESTV” or “the Licensee”).
Editors – Parliament Hill is an arts programme which follows the rock band Editors around London as they talk about their favourite locations in the city. A complainant alerted Ofcom to the use of the phrase “It’s pretty **** terrifying” by one of the band members during this pre-recorded programme.
[...]
Ofcom noted the additional compliance measures introduced by ESTV in response to this incident. Nevertheless, the use of the word “****” was clearly audible at 11:05 in this programme when broadcast. There was therefore a breach of Rule 1.14.

That's Solent and Oxford are of this week networking a home shopping jewellery strand. No idea if it's produced in-house or produced by the likes of JML or The Jewellery Channel.

The site appears to be operated by Buccaneer Broadcasting, the geniuses who brought us a re-edited version of the AhhBra! infomercial for the UK.

I must say that my favourite thing about Mustard TV continues to be that because they rely on CSO sets they have no flexibility for studio performances, so any musical acts get a static background consisting of some lights and some smoke, and then during the perfomance the cameras just fade between the two or three angles they have.

As seen here.

Otherwise, Mustard continue to do very well.

MustardTv (hate that name) is doing a great job. Looks good. interviews are broken up instead of a long boring dry interview. I do agree they need to invest in some sorta of set for live performances. A simple black curtain and maybe some LED bars is a simple solution. But they really showing up LL and ThatsTV and MadeIN.
