Good Morning Britain - 2015 Refresh/Tweaks

Indeed, it was handled quite well off the bat. They came back from the look at the weather following the TOTH and went straight to the breaking news and then almost immediately to Westminster too where their Political correspondent was waiting, presumably to talk about another story but being redeployed for this instead. There may well have been a few typos on the way, but as usual (and as with Daybreak before it) they did quite well when it came to breaking news. Susanna Reid really carried the news today, with Ben for a large part of the time making sympathetic noises, and it was quite unusual to hear things like 'that's according to the Press Association' on breakfast TV, especially GMB!

Susanna was really in her element. The reporting from Kos really was top quality as well.

Today's show was notable for a few reasons:

- First time that the new 8am TOTH hasn't come from the sofa
- First time that there has only been one Entertainment segment in a regular programme
- First time that Kate has done the weather!

Did she do the weather in front of the plasma screen? Gutted that I missed that

No, just at the desk. She was pretty good at it! Confused the team in the gallery though, Kate did the weather, then the sting was played and the Check-a-trade advert, then the break sting was played, then back to Susanna and Ben.

The Beach Boys performance was nice - good to see some music on the show again and it's a shame they don't do more of it to be honest.

I think they should have something similar to the Today Show Summer Concert Series, and have a different band/act perform on the South Bank every Friday during the Summer.

There was quite a few, Kate's microphone also wasn't working during the news segment at 6am, so Susanna had to take over. This mornings programme did make it feel like it was April 2014.

So how's Charles Kennedy now?
