Very wise to launch with zero publicity against what will probably be the highest rating show of the year so far. Brilliant launch strategy.

Still more of a website than That's Oxford has!

The launch of That's Manchester has been handled very poorly. I only found out about it yesterday from a friend who is working for them tonight helping produce their shows. There has been absolutely no publicity about it locally, not to mention the EPG is currently showing 'Coming Soon' rather than the programme that is currently on air, which will hardly encourage people to tune in.

Manchester is probably going to be a lot like how Oxford was launched. Low key, enough to keep Ofcom happy with That's Television employees talking about "teething troubles" and "give us a chance"

I do wonder if That's TV have taken on too many licences with not enough resources or funds?

Going by an Instagram video by That's Manchester presenter Gemma Hepworth, they've gone for a London Live style brick backdrop, rather than the Fruit Shoots purple used by Solent and Oxford.

So sad. This makes ChannelM looks like BBC One in comparison.

Talk Oxford on That's Oxford.

A low key launch is probably the right move - certainly if the other option is the Big Centre ego trip approach.

Here's some images from that's Manchester.

We have talk Manchester:

And their studio:
http://www.thisisfive.co.uk/thatsmanchester/ttvm_day1_002.jpg

A programme called my Manchester (though i think they need to research their Manchester Bridges if the background is supposed to be local).
http://www.thisisfive.co.uk/thatsmanchester/ttvm_day1_003.jpg

this programme featured this break bumper which can't fit the logo in:

Then at 5:30 we had "News Now" or "Headline News" as the presenter calls it:

And it's studio:

then later the same programme was broadcast again, but the title had now changed to Headline News:

And here are the opening titles of News Now:

Ok dude straighten your tie! UGH. Sorry thats a little peeve i hate. It drives me crazy. No one looks in a mirror before going on air? No one behind the camera notices this stuff? Also whats with the proverbial glass of water? So silly and unnecessary and simply doenst need to be in vision. Is he expected to start choking any moment. And why doesnt he have the lap top to his left open instead of centre desk seemingly closed on his hands, or at least it appears that way. I feel bad because I think that ThatsTv has overextended themselves. (Hate the names of these channels.)
