As the weather didn't have sponsorship stings on Friday morning does this mean that the programme was classed as a news programme and so were allowed them?

I much preferred the blue lighting used in the performance area rather than the GMB yellow that they've been using recently. That grass on the table looks so odd in the wide shots and makes it a bit pointless as it's not really seen in sofa shots either.

I think they wanted to retain a blue look throughout as if you look when Kate/Ben were in Gabriel's Wharf in-between the corner next to door and the blackboard which said 'GMB Election Special' you can see the blue lights on the wall

Indeed & I liked the look of it. I feel that the oranges could be added through the furnishings such as the light shades in the sofa area and cushions rather than lighting.

Lots of jib and steadicam work today, even coming out of the regional news.

And back to relying on our old friend, the sofa!

The 2015 version of the theme sounds more like "Good Night Britian" rather than Good Morning Britian!

I just wish ITV would realise that all they have done is ruined a brilliant and somewhat innovative programme, by allowing it to slowly deteriorate to the dated and uninspiring model that they have sat on for the past thirty years. Even the minor details, such as the music gave off a sense of authority and respect. Now it's the music I'd expect to introduce the interview of a naturist on This Morning. The graphics appeared well thought out and informative. Now it's a randomly placed white rectangle along with an orange blob.

That's before you even touch the issue of the content, which is far closer to Loose Women than it is April 2014 GMB. The clear sidlining of Sean and the increase of Garraway's screen time has done the show no favours, and it needs to revert to the original, authorial, fast-paced, four presenter lead GMB of 2014, and I hope that Charlotte's return may help this along. Although I daren't hold my breath.

The same behind-the-scenes staff as GMTV have only reverted what many publications described as true competition to Breakfast, into the same failing programme ITV has aired since the days of TV-AM.

What does their audience want though?

I'm not referring to viewers, I'm referring to the people that advertisers are wanting to watch their adverts. The programme won't be a failure because it gets less viewers than BBC Breakfast, it will be a failure if the advertisers won't pay for their slots. If the "hard news" GMB version brought in the viewers, but they were turning off as soon as a competition / ad break appeared, then those viewers are of no value to the channel or programme. ITV aren't competing with the BBC at breakfast, they're competing with all the other channels showing adverts. And it wouldn't surprise me at all if the advertising audience at that time of day are more interested in the Loose Women / GMTV style programme than them trying to out BBC the BBC.

FYI: NBC's TODAY launched a new more energetic open to compete with the mess that is GMA.
