Well that wasn't too surprising. The only part of The Chart Show that I enjoyed was the 10-second cross-over with Radio 1.

It fell into the trap of over-formatting. For a music show you'd think they'd just want to show loads of videos, but given the brief 28 minute running time they devoted an awful lot of time to other bits and bobs.

Quite a few errors, although it was the first programme.

Did anyone else think it was way too busy, why didn't they just run down the Top 40?

The person who is responsible for getting Friday Download and CBBC Official Chart Show to air needs to be fired. What were they thinking!

The irony is that the CBBC official chart show is actually not the official chart show. Just a show that for a few minuets talks about the chart. There was no need for this to be from radio 1, no need to be live and not need to have been commissioned. From the press pack CBBC wanted to get children talking about the chart this show will not do that! Cel was not bad and hopeful as he grows with the show he will get better. He was always one of the better presenters on FD.

And Friday Download is no longer Friday Download. They mind as well have called it Friday hang out or better still not commission the show all together. Watching back this weeks episode it felt the guy doing the dance download which is not longer called dance download could not be bothered. it was like he was been made to be there. Two maybe three of the host have some sort of chance but apart from that it's just crap. From the twitter replies to the show not everyone likes the changes ether.

Looking at figures not just for FD but for CBBC as a whole is just terrible. Cbeebies is getting double what CBBC is getting and the fact CBBC lost 27%? of it's overall audience on the channel year to year is just shocking. I know more kids are switching online but 27% is terrible. I find it funny that the new boss of BBC Children's is like 'we need to get over 10s watching more CBBC' and the rest of the team are going 'we are not sure why they are not' to me is the most worrying thing of all. If they can't look at CBBC from programming to the brand and not see how it fails and has the most cheapest and childish branding CBBC had in a long time, Even more childish and unprofessional than CBeebies that so unappealing to children then there is no hope.

The saddest thing is CBBC could be so much better and so much stronger and is just been denied the chance. All the things CBBC say kids don't want like a Saturday morning show is completely wrong I think children would love a Saturday morning show. They could have used the money of CBBCOCS and FD to make a fun, live saturday morning show that contains music and chart news.

CBBC is just a mess and needs sorting out asap!

Are you telling me CBBC should do a version of SMTV Live/CD:UK?

CBBC's issue is that the same target audience has commercial competition from other channels and PSB obligations, such as Newsround. Last time I visited my neighbour who has two kids aged 12 and 9, they were watching Nickelodeon. CBBC didn't come into the equation. Still I'd still like CBBC to stay as it does provide a public service, but how they market it to kids who watch rubbish US formats on rival channels isn't easy.

CBeebies does really well thanks to commissioning market leading educational and entertaining programming which parents don't have an issue leaving their children to watch.

I'm 16 and my favourite CBBC shows, the ones I will try to actually watch, are Newsround and Blue Peter.

If I was in charge of Children's: I would try to rebuild connections with BBC One, Two, and Three because personally I think it was a stupid decision to take high-budget shows such as Blue Peter off BBC One.

Additionally: I would improve CBBC Presentation because at the moment they heavily rely on PowerPoint to make their cheap graphics. I have always thought that Blue Peter could offer a brilliant regular alternative to the 'office' segments, possibly regular 5/10 minute broadcasts between shows.

On a positive note, the CBBC website is very good, even with horrible logos and shows!

Finally, has anyone else ever wondered how BBC Children's justify the spending they put to giving Blue Peter a whole studio, considering I read the show only receives under 90,000 views now?

Basically, in my opinion, both Channels need a complete revamp!

To be fair Stephen, CBBC has for many years now had an "upper age limit" of 12, so unfortunately the programming won't be catered to your age range. Your age range is most likely being covered by Radio 1 and the efforts they've been making in video, which has, at least in the daytime, been focussing on younger and younger audiences ever since Ben Cooper took over.

I happen to know this being a radio presenter, although there's other forums for this.

I think the problem lies with this great contract of brilliant live studio based programmes (eg. Blue Peter) sitting alongside gimmicky patronizing entertainment shows (Pop Slam being a prime example) then in-between are a great team of faces who are really great at entertaining although have to work In a cheap studio environment, the CBBC Office, where they're using PowerPoint to produce the graphics.

Personally, I would remove the 'office' studio, leaving Newsround alone, and broadcast longer community segments, some 5 minutes whilst some are 10, from the actual CBBC Office because they are located in BBC Bridge House which has perfect views onto MediaCItyUK that can be utilized to produce mini programmes, simply refered to as the Office.

To see how this could possible work, here is a great interview which was recently put up onto CBBCs YouTube Channel.

I believe this change could be the start, then take a detailed look at all programmes and cut any that are simply unnecessary.

The last time I visited some younger relatives, they had Netflix on, and it the American imports I watched as a child that they were watching - Rugrats being the example I remember. If they were bored with that, it was iPads out and YouTube on.

They were shocked when I switched Netflix off, and there was something good on a linear channel. The only things they ever watch on a TV channel are the many-in-a-row You've Been Framed! repeats on ITV2.

Including, bad audio quality on the 7 - 4 VT and the TV's restarting the graphics loop mid-link.
