Interesting that the programme is coming from studio B. Presumably this means a jib operator might be required. Are the other cameras in B able to be operated manually and remotely?

Think B is similar to TC7 in camera configuration. Manual jib, one manual ped (though you don't have to use it or can lock it off), with the other cameras on static ped bases, but with remote PTZ heads with elevate options. (i.e. you can't move the cameras around the studio without manual effort, but can reframe shots remotely from a fixed position) You can run the remote cameras manually, but the heads on them don't give you quite the smooth manual control that a proper manual head does, so you probably wouldn't do much in the way of on-shot moves (though remotely you'd probably be better off)

Be interesting to see if it is an RF or cabled steadicam. My guess is cabled.

It will be along the lines of WHYS with steady cam / jib work as far as I know.

They soon axed the steadi-cam on WHYS though, didn't they? From what I remember it was incredibly bumpy and didn't look good at all.

That wasn't a steadicam, but a handheld (underarm) setup which will look out of place when compared to cameras on peds/tripods and is contextually wrong for news which is perhaps why it was dropped. Proper steadicam would fit right in though.

Don't think WHYS wasn't a Steadicam - pretty sure it was conventional handheld.

Interesting that the branding has gone down "VictoriaLive" route. Can see why they couldn't have called it "Derbyshire" (which is what her Radio Five Live show was known as - at least internally) or "Derbyshire Live" as it would have sounded like a local TV channel.

Shows themed around a presenter's christian name, like Vanessa or Trisha, often have a slight feeling of the daytime tabloid about them - and it is a show broadcast during daytime so even harder to shake off that thought.

Looks to be more Kilroy than Live with Alastair Stewart. Sky News will be delighted.

If it's anything like Kilroy, it's unsuitable for the News Channel.

It will be interesting to see whether they go down the path of the BBC News graphics or if the program will begin a different look.

Also be looking forward to see what presenters would be the cover when Victoria is away.

In a seemly desperate move, the first hour of the Victoria Derbyshire programme will be simulcast on Radio 5 Live on April 13th.

Yet another seemingly bitter post about VD from you.
It's an election debate, the BBC NC used to often simulcast her old Five Live debates.
