To be honest every change the program has made has been a negative one. Still prefer Day 1

Exactly how I feel, I also believe the problem lies backstage as like stated the same people run it as Daybreak & GMTV. If it was me I would of replaced the staff in the major roles backstage, why would you keep them on after the Daybreak V1 & V2 disaster.

Wonder , also if they will be back outside during the summer months in a few months time.

I'm guessing that they are staff, and you need good reason to make dismiss people, legally, rather than making them redundant to reduce headcount. Employment law, luckily for most of us, means you can't just sack people because their faces no longer fit.
Plus making staff redundant can be very expensive if they have decent conditions of service (not unusual to be paid a month's salary for each year of service in redundancy - so if you have been with GMTV for 12 years - it would cost a company your annual salary in redundancy to get rid of you)...

True that it's unsurprising that the backroom staff will stay on - but the much more dispensable senior editors are the ones who shape the overall programme and its editorial direction.

This is how it seems to work...

1) Introduce new format, with big name presenter(s) as the main draw. Limit Kate Garraway to a marginal role. Assume all existing viewers will like it. Do very little marketing, relying mainly on cross-promotion elsewhere on ITV.

2) Panic when launch ratings are disappointing. Reintroduce some TV-am/GMTV-style features, ignoring the fact that these featured most heavily at the previous programme's nadir.

3) Go into meltdown as ratings slide further. Revert to format and content almost indistinguishable from TV-am, GMTV and the previous programme before it got axed. Significantly increase Kate Garraway's screen time.

4) Axe programme due to record low ratings.

5) Repeat steps 1-5 ad infinitum.

Take a look at Wikipedia under "Reception"

"Despite bosses best efforts to make Good Morning Britain work, it was announced that it would end in September 2015"

But then again... we are talking about Wikipedia and is probably not true.

Indeed, I just checked and it's been removed. By an unregistered editor, which makes a nice change, as people who don't log in are often the vandals, not the cleaners.

Another behind the scenes video from the show, haven't seen this advertised as much as the last however

The solar eclipse piece with the specialist around 8:15 was very clever this morning having the jib sweep out across the ceiling of the studio as they lights adjusted similar to the eclipse.

In other GMB talk. I overheard work colleagues saying how they've started to watch the BBC as the 'Channel 3 one' is too cheesy.

Most people don't even know there watching Good Morning Britain at my work, always hear "Did you see that story on GMTV this morning?"

My mother always still says GMTV. I do correct her haha. Note sure if it's habit or the show is just so similar.

I saw a couple of clips from GMTV on YouTube to remind myself, what is all the fuss about really? It's nothing special.

My mum refers to anything or anyone from GMTV/Daybreak/GMB as being on "This Morning"...

During a conversation I overheard about watching TV/listening to radio in the morning the other day, I remember hearing, 'nah, I tend to watch the one on three'.
