Big Centre TV are launching their breakfast programme from 0800-0925.
However the decision to axe 90 mins of news content is ridiculous, especially as London is a 24 hour city. 7-9am would have been a sensible compromise as they did during the festive period.
I hope they're beefing up either Headline London or The Evening News to compensate?

According to listings Wake Up London becomes 8.30am -10am from Monday. Do Londoners get up later than the rest of the UK ?

As a thought, I think they know that they're trounced by Breakfast and possibly GMB, so are going for the audience who are more likely not to watch Lorraine at 8.30 or the fluffy side of Breakfast who are more likely to be staying at home than going to work.
A shame as I'd tune into Wake Up London while preparing breakfast at 7.30.
Ofcom surely have to be aware of this as if Headline London is also axed, that's 2.5 hours shaved off their news commitments per day.

I wonder if LL will try and get round it by claiming The Headline Interview which is largely pre-recorded, except on Thursday will count towards the 5.5 hours?

I think they're probably trounced by Noddy on Channel 5!
I think the problem is they still have no idea who they're aiming at.
Breakfast was one area they had a USP - local information delivered every 15 minutes. The show itself had really begun to improve, but it's had no promotion in either The Standard or even on the channel so I doubt many people even know it's there.
As a London commuter, I won't be able to watch the new show, which means I won't be watching the channel at all.

I'll let you in on a little secret SuperDave- nobody commuting in, or into, London has time to watch piss poor television.
Making TV for a non-existent audience is heartbreaking for all involved.
ESTV should hand back the licence and let a company with TV experience give it a go.
For as long as it tries to pretend it knows what it's doing, London Live is wasting the time of talented producers and journalists- many of which gave up good jobs with professional broadcasters.

It says a lot really about the supposed flagship of local tv that they simply can't get it right.
Mustard TV's evening show does what it says on the tin. First part, a news review, then the light hearted interviews in the second. Perfect. Notts has a decent news bulletin and a debate show.
Platform 8 in the early days was their best attempt at providing alternative local journalism, yet it was the first format to be axed, followed by the sports show, then NOTS which was scraping the barrel stuff and now it appears Headline London.
Please Mr Lebedev, sell the licence and give London the local television it deserves to have as a world class city.

Not sure if these latest changes reflect their submission to Ofcom to reduce their commitment to news / original content or if it goes over and above the reductions which they previously announced ?
Either way it's far removed from the obligations in their tender. I vote for a rerun.

They have never met the obligations of their original licence. The 5.5 hours of News and Current Affairs Programming applied across the week ie: 7 days. At the last change, this still applied, as did the 8 hours of original first run content daily.
Ofcom should grow a pair and revoke the licence.
