I watched just over an hour of this morning's Wake Up London, and was pleasantly surprised. Despite shedding a third of their staff, the show seemed better produced. News, travel and weather every 15 minutes, plus a good range of feature stories and interviews across the hour.

Still a few niggles (including Alex saying goodbye at the top of the hour and a lack of variety in the promos into and out of the commercial breaks) but overall much improved.

The main news summary was mostly illustrated, there was one live cross (to Vanessa covering road safety from Elephant and Castle) a couple of pre-recorded packages (including one from last night's Evening Show) and some live and pre-recorded interviews.

Overall much better.

Da Ali G Show starts on London Live in March, however according to their website, he's a "wannabe London gangster"

Staines is not in London!

*ahem* it's Staines-upon-Thames now actually! But it's not far out to be fair.

Bizzare scheduling tonight on LL - antiques shows followed by a Danny Dyer movie, and a Dyer (or should that be Dire) interview with the man himself saying F**k a lot.

Surely anybody can be a wannabe London gangster.

The Ali G character never really made reference to London. There were more references to the areas around the M4 corridor west of Heathrow.

Not sure if they just haven't populated the schedule yet, but from next Monday it appears London's Burning will air in place of Wake Up London and 10 years younger in place do The Headline Interview. The Evening News and The Evening Show are still in place.

Wake Up London scrapped?

Certainly not showing in the schedule for the first few days of next week.

I hope not. Just as they get the mix right.

If anything, it should be the slightly not so god awful Evening Show that should get the chop.

According to listings Wake Up London becomes 8.30am -10am from Monday. Do Londoners get up later than the rest of the UK ?

A combination of Londons Burning & London Bridge fill 6-8.30am. Because there really aren't enough opportunities to see London's Burning on London Live. Rolling Eyes

I often end up switching on Wake Up London at about 8.45 so a later show would work for me.
