I quite like the LIVE TV debates, but they have to be hosted by someone who is suited to the actual format. Nick Ferrari is not the right choice.

I don't think it's the shows that are the problem.

I remember Central Weekend from years ago being a similar programme that was presented and produced to make it informative and entertaining.

For me they just feel cheap. I think it's more down to the aesthetics of the programme.

Nick Ferrari is an odd choice. Matthew Wright was down on the sky epg to be hosting. If not Matthew Richard Bacon, Richard Madeley or Kaye Adams have all filled in for Matthew fantastically before and who could all do a better job.

Is Celebrity Big Brother's Bit On The Side LIVE? I only ask because Chloe Goodman was on the NHS Debate, and now she's on Bit On The Side.

Nick Ferrari is a classic example of someone who does a brilliant job on radio painting the picture of the tabloid agenda required for his LBC radio show, but then it doesn't transfer well to television.

Dare I say James Whale would have done a better job? He has the television experience from his infamous shock jock era at Radio Aire when YTV commissioned a Friday night late night tv show, but he isn't a 'tv' name these days working on BBC local radio in Essex and Kent.

I think it's only live on eviction nights nowadays.

Pre-recorded mostly.

I seem to remember when it's live, the BBOTS audience were offered a ride back to London if they couldn't get a train from Elstree & Borehamwood station to ensure audience members could participate.

He did lots of telly in the 90's, not just the 'Radio Show' for Yorkshire. He's still quite well known I think and was/is very good at that sort of thing.

Nick Ferrari is good on radio (not my sort of thing but is good at it) but always looks a bit uncomfortable on telly. I'm not sure the opinionated angry right wing act really goes down that well on telly either
amosc100 and London Lite gave kudos

Big Brother got 2.65m viewers last night at 9pm, putting Channel 5 second overall, behind BBC ONE with 6.5m for Death in Paradise. BBC TWO got 1.47m, ITV got 1.72m and Channel 4 got 1.2m for their 9pm offerings.

Has Channel 5 ever came second before overall or first in the ratings on a given night?
