I don't like how they have completely reduced Sean's position. He doesn't need to be reduced to sports presenter and would be more than capable doing the same as Ben.

When I might him he had so much care for the show, incredibly enthusiastic and his character is one the nation could warm to had he been given a proper shot - I don't feel he has.

This mornings 8am TOTH sequence included no news headlines , just the two entertainment items.

It's a shame for Sean but also stupid on the bosses part - they forever keep reinforcing the idea of a 'team' much like on the U.S. breakfast shows. The Christmas promo features Susanna, Ben, Charlotte and Sean - the press shots back at launch was of all four etc, and it worked well.

But now, as you say, Sean's role has been completely diminished. His bulletin is a minute or two long and there's no real interaction with the rest of the team.

The reason its such a shame is because Sean was good at making conversation with the rest of the team. It's also worth remembering that Charlotte's role has reduced too, at launch she'd take on some news stories and interviews herself whereas now shes just the newsreader for the summaries.

After listing to the open with headphones on, the music seems perfect, the only problem with it, for me, would be that the constant piano motifs in the open feel like they are building to something big, and then just cut to the remixed version of the last part of the open bed. I'm not saying someone has chopped the opener track up, just that it sis missing something.

Watched the 8am headlines. One news headline, two entertainment headlines. Itv simply don't get it. Lousy content = programme failure regardless of who presents it

She'll be extremely good at covering it, very authoritative.

I don't know if this counts as straying off-topic, (I hope not), but on yesterday's morning's GMB, the word 'penis' was used by a guest which prompted Susanna saying "you're not allowed to say that at this time in the morning" and Ben saying "we apologise if anyone was offended". They also went to the trouble of cutting a good minute out of the ITV Player version of the show to remove the use of the word and following apologies. Is any of that kerfuffle really necessary?

I wonder how well the new soft music will go along with such a serious hard story.

It will 'go' fine, as it would with any other news story.
Quite a few people, myself included had said something about the remixed theme, but in my opinion its much more fitting.
I very much doubt they will use the old 'newsier' theme, although with such a serious story they may perhaps use it.
