I agree as Channel M was a great channel, if we had not had the recession with GMG selling the MEN off then I think it could still be around, although on a much smaller budget, but they already had a good library of programmes - one of my favourite being I Love Manchester - plus catered for both sides of the football spectrum and also for the other clubs as well, and programmes on the other sports in the area, whilst the music was diverse. Even Andy Crane with his breakfast programme (and later evening programme) were actually of a high standard for micro-local programming.
Andy Crane never did Channel M Breakfast. He used to present the Channel M News at 5pm & 9pm alongside Jess Dunsdon (now with Channel Television). The Channel M News at 5pm got cancelled when they moved the Channel M Breakfast format to drivetime and renamed it Channel M Today, airing between 4pm & 7pm.
Well YourTv has a big shoes to fill. ChannelM left a big legacy for local tv in the GMA. They will be compared with that channel. With the launches we've seen so far, Im not holding my breath.
