Nicaraguan-born Mari Ramos was one of the best, most likable, and most knowledgeable meteorologists of any channel. It's such a shame that they let her go.
Indeed. Here's a clip from that era:

A shame about Raitlsa, I remember watching her during what I consider the 'glory days' of CNNi in the mid 90s.

Really???? I think experienced anchors like Michael Holmes, Rosemary Church, Jonathan Mann, Jim Clancy, Hala Gorani are still at CNNi!!
How bad has CNNI got?
You can tell that all the experienced anchors have left CNN.
Very poor anchors (Zain Asher, Lynda Kincade) and the poor Atlanta set is showing.
Time for a rethink CNN bosses!

Really? Where did you see this James?
Jim Clancy has left CNN, under a cloud it seems.

It's been all over the press for the last few days. It seems to mostly stem from an anti-Israeli Tweetstorm over the Charlie Hebdo attacks, or so it is claimed. Jim also deleted his Twitter account last week.

His tweets really didn't make a lot of sense to me and the Israeli-blaming seemed very odd and somewhat irrelevant given the topic at hand, though I otherwise really enjoyed his Twitter and all the articles that he would share. He was also one of the greatest anchors that CNN ever had. It's a shame to see him leave in such an undignified way.

Yes in US mainstream media any suggestion of sympathy with the Palestinians or Arabs in general linked with any criticism of Israel is a no no!

Mhhh. This has been kept unusually quiet. Too quiet. Id be quite surprised if this isnt yet another duratrans change, as they typically have been doing for the past few years to freshen things up. If its something major id be surprised. Could it be a return to the big newsroom? That'd be nice. But somehow i doubt it. The old HLN studio is out. As this is CNN Domestics only Atlanta studio space and is currently used for World Sport and NewDay/NewsRoom Wknd. Studio7 is now HLN. If its a major move, beside returning to the HQ newsroom I cant think of another space that would accommodate a large set. Unless they have been rebuilding things.
I wonder what happened to the old Headline News newsroom space? Probably reconfigured ages ago.

I think it's just the wrong wording on Rosie's side. From Monday, the European morning block of CNN Newsroom will get a new look and a new, regular presenter line up. The photo Rosie tweeted already shows the new look/backgrounds that will be used, very similar to CNN Today.
Ever since the middle of 2014 (when the simulcast with CNN US started) this shift has seen a rotation of several anchors, mostly Rosie and John Vause, who are regular presenters plus Errol Burnett who moved back from SA, Zain Asher who moved from NY where she was a biz reporter, Natalie Allen who regularly does weekends and a few other who were tested or just randomly appeared.
From Monday, first 2 hours (6-8 CET) will be presented by Vause and Asher followed by 2 hours (8-10 CET) of Church and Burnett. This line up has already been established last few weeks. Weekends (I assume Fridays too) will be done by Natalie Allen and George Howell. Personally, I wish they left John and Rosie together. Not a fan of Zain Asher, she's the weak link here. Natalie and George are both very good. Errol still makes me feel like presenting Newsround.
It's really good to see double headed presentation make a big return to CNNI, after years of mostly single headed slots, with a few exceptions. Now we will have 6 hours of it daily.
