France Télévisions are reportedly planning to launch a 24-hour news channel. It will apparently build on its online portal FranceTVInfo, and it seems they plan to launch it on the web and not as a "real" TV channel.

This is part of a larger project called "Info 2015" to merge the newsrooms of France 2 and France 3, which are still largely separate organisations.

It would be a bit odd if France Télévisions was allowed to launch a news channel on DTT, considering the regulators more or less forced LCI to close down by not allowing it to go free-to-air.

IIRC, France Televisions owned France 24 during the early year before the government took full control of the channels

True, France 24 was originally owned by France Télévisions and TF1.
