International News Presentation: Past and Present

Last Monday, Globo launched a new early morning newscast, Hora Um da Notícia ("Newshour One"), or simply Hora Um ("Hour One"), broadcast from their studios in São Paulo, extending their morning news block to four hours (60 minutes for H1 , 90 minutes for the local morning newscasts, collectively known as Bom Dia Praça - extended from their previous 60-70 minutes, and 90 minutes for Bom Dia Brasil - also extended, from 70 minutes).

Here's a 2010 feature about the 35 anniversary of the late edition of Zeit im Bild , the flagship newscast on Austria's ORF. The late edition was conceived as being more personalized and American-influenced than the 7:30 edition:

Does TG1 still have that Harry Potter -like headline bed? The clip on that video cuts straight to the presenter so I assume it was a short bulletin.

Really liking SBS6's HVNL, that theme is pretty decent as well...

France Télévisions are reportedly planning to launch a 24-hour news channel. It will apparently build on its online portal FranceTVInfo, and it seems they plan to launch it on the web and not as a "real" TV channel.

This is part of a larger project called "Info 2015" to merge the newsrooms of France 2 and France 3, which are still largely separate organisations.

It would be a bit odd if France Télévisions was allowed to launch a news channel on DTT, considering the regulators more or less forced LCI to close down by not allowing it to go free-to-air.

They used to have one of best themes in Germany. That 2014 opening frankly boring. Not as punchy as the last theme used. (I love a strong signature)
