It's a standardised general BBC font. It was used in 2009 when "Light Up Your Christmas" with the BBC was used across all channels but using BBC1's presentation.
Interesting that it isn't in the BBC ONE font. Is that a really thin Gill Sans?

I do like that. Very nice.
Although for some reason, the text being set to the right seemed to stand out a lot more in that trailer end board than it usually does with the red end board. I'm not sure why. With the normal red endboard it has never bothered me, but I think with the christmas one it would look better if it was all centre aligned.

Part of the problem is the fact the text is huge in that end board, needs reducing a smidge. Having a 16:9 safe area doesn't mean you have to make everything fit if it doesn't!

Is that the Wikipedia SVG version of the BBC logo? I can always tell when they use it because the letters are thinner than in the actual logo.
On a less picky note - the one graphic we've seen so far has given me hope for a great Christmas package this year

Yes that's true. Maybe that's why it stands out more than it has done previously for me.
