Central now have giant ITV logos on the back of the laptops now from today.

What's with their constant obsession with sticking all sorts of logos on the laptops?

What I don't get is why stick a logo on at all? iPads are branded with skins or cases, I'm sure ITV could get a skin made up for each region's laptops

Granada Reports uses iPads during their bulletins and they've all got cases on the back of them with the shows title board on them. I guess each region is different.

They cant seem to make up their mind regarding logos on laptops - first massive itv news, then a smaller version and now this! Even over the weekend we had one laptop on top of another!

It's a shame that they can't have computers built under the desk so that we wouldn't have to see the laptops at all.

Do presenters really need a laptop for the main programmes? Look North in Leeds don't appear to have any form of computer on set for the presenters, although sometimes there is a laptop for the shorter bulletins, possibly where the presenter is more involved in producing.

I'm not sure they need them, but i guess they're handy for breaking news/ checking the running order.
Personally i'm not a fan of Laptops on the desks as it looks cluttered and messy, a computer built under the desk would be better imo.

You should see the Sheffield Live laptop - it has a shiny back so it reflects the mess of cables screwed up on the desk behind it. Someone's phone was charging there the other week...

Horror seems to be the theme of that channel...

As for ITV News Central's Laptop logos, I agree that it just doesn't look quite right on screen.

Why don't they get a new transparent desk and put the computers underneath? Laptops don't tend to be found on news desks anymore.

Different laptop unbranded with Wesley for the late bulletin on Thursday night.

Because a new desk would be too expensive and an unnecessary expense, when there's nothing wrong with the old one. They can't just magic up a desk.
