OCD alert..... Why can't Sky choose one EPG title for their live football and stick to it? Tonight on Sky Sports 1 we've got "
Live Football: Euro Qualifiers
" (aka Poland v Scotland). On SS2 we've got "
Live International Football
" (aka Greece v Norn Iron). Finally for good measure, on SS5 we've got "
Germany v Republic of Ireland
". Between them they conspire to be both correct but inaccurate at the same time. Grr.
I've only just got used to the channel numbers being one digit out.....

Quite liking the new ECPR rugby graphics, use of mixed case for team and player names quite unusual these days, and the "sin bin clock" is a bit more readable than it used to be. Some of the other graphics, for example the TMO questions, are harder to read. Graphics are coloured purple for the Challenge Cup and presumably will be blue for the Champions Cup.
Music is the same as ERC days, though the Challenge Cup's own theme seems to be getting a bit more usage than it previously did.

Wondering whether it's time to re-invent the EPG, how about a tag based system, with a word cloud of say fifty terms which can be included / excluded from selecting programming from, producing a subset of programming to choose.

Rather like the albeit pointless gimmick of animating the outline of the rugby ball shaped clock, providing the duration of the play in graphics as well as the time elapsed showing in figures.

Worth noting that the Sky and BT graphics for the EPCR are not exactly the same - they are both using distinctively different ways of showing the team sheets and Sky used a "TRY" transition which BT doesn't. The graphics seem to have been the result of a three way Sky/BT/EPCR tie in - there's elements of both broadcasters in there.
Also was strange seeing the Premier League scorers pop up in the EPCR font during the Sarries v Clermont game.
Edit: And it looks like BeinSport is using some of its own elements too. Seems the broadcasters have bit of freedom as long as they follow the house style overall.
