STV Line up for me is great - but the studio limitations are really apparent. It's a shame they couldn't 'join' the news and Scotland Tonight studio's together in some respects set up wise so they could basically walk back and forward at will / make the place look bigger.
A third version of the BBC coverage is a Welsh language programme going out on S4C. Unusually for them it appears to be using the BBC News graphics system, complete with ticker - although with their own colours and font.
Well, STV's coverage isn't at all bad but ITV News and Alastair Stewart are certainly much missed at a time like this. Bernard Ponsonby and Aasmah Mir are competent presenters but the whole thing just feels very unfamiliar to viewers in England. It's very strange that ITV opted not to go with the ITN-produced overnight programme for England as was originally planned - wonder why it was pulled?
BBC - Hugh 'Dimbleby' stuck behind a desk and all very dry, if slick.
Sky - Everywhere and interesting, but a little messy.
ITV/STV - truly awful from every measurable perspective
