Just to clarify those graphics were just used on the Barry Davies game, he did the post match interviews too and there was footage of him walking to the commentary box with Lineker explaining he also did his first MOTD commentary at Selhurst Park.
Might be worth using him for the first few rounds of the FA Cup when they'll need a few more commentators and to give the FA Cup a little extra spark. I think his voice still sounded quite good to be honest.
I was never the biggest Barry Davies fan but he was rather excellent tonight. What surprised me was how good he still sounded, when he had sounded pretty poor when doing stuff like the OBS commentaries and his stuff at Wimbledon. His son is saying on Twitter that he would certainly be up for a bit more work, perhaps an occasional cameo like tonight.

I guess it's the advantage of being able to redub stuff for highlights which you can't for live.
Just noticed The Football League Show still has a rather prominent Leicester City badge in the titles.
Surely these titles are made so you can easily replace elements like that?
Futureproofing.
PS - WTF is up with the FLS score bug? The FUL text is bigger than the DER text, the numbers are up and left of box-centre, and they're old-style. And they don't line up. Do they think the only people who watch this show are rolling in from the pub drunk? Does it all line up properly after a few bevvies?
Is the MOTD theme they ditched after a few weeks during the Jimmy Hill era online anywhere. Can't see it on TV Ark or find it on Youtube - it was mentioned in the brilliant documentary on Friday but not really played.

Is this the one - although a little later on:
Of course Grandstand did a similar thing towards the end of the decade, you have to wonder why they bother with the really iconic themes:
