BBC News Scotland website reporting that "regulator Ofcom has asked for applications to run stations in Aberdeen, Ayr, the Forth Valley, Inverness and Dundee."

I wonder if STV will have a go at any more?

I see the 'Local World' group of Newspapers is doing well...a group of over 100 local Newspapers, they have taken struggling Local Newspaper groups, cut costs and have made a nice profit. Surely if Local TV is going to survive, it needs it's players to merge into a National/Local network similar to BBC/ITV's National/Regional network? History suggests this might happen...if they are quick enough.

Local World posts adjusted profits of £38.9m

We'll be seeing some form of networking between two local licences when Yorkshire Coast TV launches. It'll share some programming with Estuary TV.

Thanks to the Grimsby Institute (which runs Yorkshire Coast College in Scarborough). I have to say, it's probably one of the wisest name choices out of the local licences, considering the dominance of Yorkshire Coast Radio in the area.

Quite rich of Made Television to suggest re-bidding considering the non-appearance of their channels so far.

I reckon/hope CN Group/News & Star may bid for the Carlisle licence.

Considering the amount of Christian media in Stoke, could we see the first local tv channel managed by a religious organisation?

Let's f***ing hope not.

Would OFCOM allow that?

Yes, if it was considered the best bid. They'd probably have to offer some commitment to local news though.

Bar cross rhythms what else is there? Unless the sentinel has a religious approach that I haven't noticed.
