Martin Stanford is much more fluent on ad libbing and asking questions to reporters than earlier with Jeremy Thompson.

I agree. Jeremy's coverage was below average compared to his usual handling of major stories. He was regularly pausing leaving silences and far less fluent than Lorna and Martin.

Fox News - and now Sky News here in the UK - are reporting that Israel has launched a major land, sea and air offensive into the Gaza Strip. With the Malaysian Airlines crash story ongoing, tonight is turning out to be a major night of international breaking news.

Has it ever been used for news before?

That clip just before 19:30 was taken off BBC World News Outside Source that had been broadcast an hour earlier.

It's good to see the two of them at the desk in E

I'm not sure whether Daniela is used to doing double headed presentation in this way (as opposed to News Day), she's certainly got the Elstree Triangle down to a fine art.

60 Seconds is suggesting to visit BBC News Online rather than the News Channel for coverage of the plane crash.

So no Countdown and a minute of the filler music going into the 9pm junction just now.

Assuming this is still a World simulcast I'm surprised they're not using C rather than A.

BBC News Channel using National News Graphics without the ticker. EDIT: Screen went black now no graphics at all.

Outside source on the news channel, as said. I don't think that's the best set up for breaking news IMO. Surely they could have stayed in world's studio.

At a time when the news was quite new and there were virtually no pictures to show except those trickling in on the internet, it's was a much better choice than vanilla news

The demographics of the channel, age group most likely to read/watch online, apparently. Well, that's the nature of that update imo.

The titles at 9 played the generic titles, but instead of cutting to the newsroom they just showed the formed up globe before doing the studio pan
