So you suggestion is to come up with a new design?
You can use as many gradients and bevels as you want, but at the end of the day, it will look cheap and tacky.

God that is the worst thing I've ever seen. Don't use those kind of bevels. That is hideously cheap and tacky.
Hi Declan,
Been looking through your mock and I really appreciate the work you are doing with this mock. However, I must say i agree with what others have said about the logo being a bit 'flat' and not standing out as much. I have attached some similar logos to yours using Bevels in PowerPoint you can create a logo that stands out a bit more. I have used gradients as this is something you are clearly interested in using yourself. I hope these ideas help you in the process of creating and improving your mock.

It isn't as obvious as those but I have messed around with bevels to see if it looks any better.
I respect his efforts though. It is really nice of him to do that to help me. It has somewhat inspired me.

Damn right. I've never see a complicated logo for a tv channel that looks good.
A logo does not need to have all the bells and whistles, the BBC got this right with the 1997 rebrand, use the idents and presentation to add personality.

Yes! Totally agree with you. The personality should shine through somehow in an ident. I've got to be honest, with some adjustments, I believe the current mock logo is the one to use, don't you?
Thanks.

Mine isn't complex is it? At least I don't think it is?

That's a slightly scary analogy...
No, but simplicity doesn't mean it has to look awful. What we're saying is start over and drop the ecstasy tablet idea. It's been done to death. Come up with something innovative, simple and new that works well on screen (not just in PowerPoint)

Ecstasy tablet has to be best comparison haha!
I feel I'm getting mixed reviews I understand that you would like a new design - trust me I'm working with that alongside the current one atm - I have ideas following ASO and also HenryL96 suggesting UKTV and WATCH. Then, I feel others think the design is ok. Most recent adjustment of the current one was adding a bevel following David's upload. The bevel isn't as obvious - I don't think - as David's and I have a comparison which I will upload momentarily.
On a side note I'm not using PowerPoint I'm using photoshop.
Thanks for your feedback.

Right, like I said to Mike I have other ideas that are in early stages of development. Nevertheless, following David's upload I decided to add a bevel to my main logo to see if it comes across more appealing. I know that there have been calls to scrap this but just to see if this changes anyone's mind here is a bevel placed beside the one without:
