I can see this studio being used for the 9 better than it is in A

Why? What does it bring that studio A doesn't?

Easiness on the eye. I find that my eyes get sore (for whatever reason) when watching the News at Nine AND Newswatch.

The fact it looks half-decent? For one of the world's greatest broadcasters, Studio A really is just awful.

There's a very nice "sunset" version of the background which I'm guessing might make an appearance after the news at 10.

I wonder if, after all the 'complaints' about the basement studio for World, they may use this more.

9pm cannot really come here incase it clashes with BBC London prepping for the opt after BBC News at Ten.

Are there any track cams in this studio like the others?

It's on the same basement floor as World's two studios - and actually even further away from the lifts - so I doubt it!

My eyes get sore too when I watch more than one programme at once. That's why I stopped doing it.

They seemed to be able to cope when London where in A?

If you remember the 9pm presenter would move to the left of the set before the top of the hour, so the London presenter could sit behind the desk ready for the 10pm heads.

The difference might be that studio D seems somewhat smaller than studio A.
The framing of the weather needs tweaking and I would have preferred the standard weather home slide with presenters name and Met Office rather than the arrangement they used.
Also did I imagine that BBC London were moving to using the national weather team for the 6.30 and 10.00 bulletins?

They already are on Wednesday to Friday. National are also covering when a London hub presenter isn't available on Mon/Tues evenings.

The problem with the virtual set in A is that it's too sharp, there's no depth of field to the background. Compare the same shot in A (top) and C (bottom) - the background is slightly out of focus in the real studio.
