They've obviously been working fast to get Lorraine's new set in since Friday! I wish we could see that before tomorrow morning too, but doubt it!

The set will have been built long before this weekend. All they do is pretty much wheel it in to the studio and clamp it together - as with any set which is kept in storage.

Is the studio (Studio 5) fitted out permanetly with the GMB set or will the set be removed each day for other shows?
Most likely it will be a permanent set, seeing as they haven't used studio 5 since GMTV.

I'm not sure where your getting your information from.

The studio was used extensively after GMTV moved out and indeed was completely refurbished for HD for 'Al Jazeera' using the same model of Sony cameras and vision mixer as all the other TLS HD studios. As a side note, the vision mixer from St7 has been moved and re-installed into St5 because it has greater facilities than the original ST5 mixer.

Wikipedia? I don't think it mentions anything to do with Al Jazeera on the London Studios page.

Al Jazeera Sport have been running out of TLS for years. It's widely known. They built a glass studio behind TLS for their London 2012 coverage.

bluecortina (like quite a few others here) certainly doesn't have to rely on Wikipedia to know what goes on at TLS.

In some cases Al Jazeera need more than one studio I believe (or needed to broadcast whilst their studio was being altered/relocated) - and in the past used the original Daybreak studio and set. (Do many people know Gary Lineker also works for Al Jazeera Sport?)

Oh yeah, while it's not really worth much value as information as 1) proper insiders have said it and they'll know more than me and 2) the show's on tomorrow, I've also heard that they'll be doing the regional "And now for the news in ___" stuff. Just to throw extra confirmation on that.

Haven't AJ sport (although they're not called that now) and ITV parted now? I'm sure I heard that it's based somewhere else now

Yeah, that's not actually what I was saying...

So then bluecortina responded with
I'm not sure where your getting your information from.

Then, I suggested why HenryL96 might of been under the illusion that studio 5 hasn't been used since GMTV, and where he might of been getting his information from...

Yes, the Middle East.

I was actually suggesting that ITV hadn't been using it. I knew that Al Jazeera had used it since its upgrade, but I was also aware that they'd left the studio, allowing ITV permanent use, which would also indicate that they'd be reluctant to move it daily.

I wonder if the platform where the desk is is the same shape as the logo?

It appears that the desk podium, and the rug in the sofa area both take the shape of the logo. Good attention to detail.

I wonder if the performance area and space for other features is to the left of what people have said could be the weather screen in the corner.

As for Charlotte in a different seat, hopefully it'll be through programmes, for example if Susanah is at a different point in the studio or around TLS, Charlotte may do headlines before heading over to Sean rather than doing it from different sides of the desk.

I'm expecting a lot of good stuff, the big test will be when there's breaking news. Hopefully it's the sort of programme which will break into a feature to report it (or quickly afterwards), and will be true to it's news routes. Having journalists on the main team with no official news reader role will help this.

As I said earlier, it's a lovely set. I'm just hoping that they do actually make use of the building a bit more though and have performances etc on the South Bank - especially during the summer.

Daybreak mk 2 initially did this with Little Mix, and then seemingly never bothered again...

Set-wise, I personally think it looks really nice. I will wait until tomorrow, though, to really see it 'in action'.

Content-wise, as well as discussing how snoring is affecting people's relationships (from the Facebook page), tomorrow's GMB will contain live reports from Donetsk, Ukraine by Richard Gaisford (from his Twitter) and a 'One Direction exclusive' featuring viewers sending in pictures of themselves/their children with 1D toys, etc, (from ITV GMB website).
