I wonder if the news/weather ticker will be partly regional, along the lines of what they do in the US. That would be a great gimmick.

It would be great - but presumably it would mean the regions would have to opt out for the whole of the programme, so not sure how feasible it would be. I guess it's a different set-up in the States as the affiliates transmit everything themselves.

Don't the regions broadcast the show anyway, and just cut their news in? It's been that way since GMTV launched?

Anyway to listen to the theme/sting without viewing that video? I can't access outside of the uk

If you use Google Chrome download Zenmate from the extensions store and set it to United Kingdom...Voila!

I was going to say it would require them to play it out for the full show. Although how do regional adverts play out these days, aren't all itv regions played out from London or Leeds? It may be very complicated to be able to play out a seperate news ticker for each though.

A ticker through the adverts could be a good idea though to try to keep viewers from switching over.

Could the on the road competition ob be a way to also plug a completion for viewers without a celebrity sunning themselves or walking around a stately home?

I also want a clock in the advert breaks. Otherwise I will switch over back to Breakfast.

As long as the graphics don't overlay onto any small print, it is perfectly legal to do so.

Well that's the problem. They'll have to do something clever. Adverts can be such a restriction to commercial channels - it's very annoying.

Or just scrap advertising and run the service at a loss to try and build up market share for ITV as a whole.

Like move the clock?

I'd have a Sky Sports news style set up during the adbreaks, with a news ticker, local travel and weather on screen. It would not only stop some people who need the clock turning over, but would also give people an added reason to stay with the channel.

Or not have the ads taking up the whole screen. I agree that it would help in many ways.

I've never actually seen that before. I think it looks fine and there's no reason that it can't be done on GMB.

What are the rules on having graphic overlays on adverts?
