The backdrop of the set is expected to feature a London skyline, with St Paul's Cathedral among the prominent landmarks.
The show is also expected to feature on-screen news and weather information in graphic form such as a ticker, like a 24-hour news channel, in a bid to stop viewers changing channels to Sky News or the BBC News channel.

Hawkins, talking about the new show on Friday on ITV's This Morning, said: "The set is going to look a little bit different to what you are used to, with different things going on."

I said that as well, I've noticed it mostly on Today where the likes of NBC 4 NY would have a local ticker throughout....
I wonder if the news/weather ticker will be partly regional, along the lines of what they do in the US. That would be a great gimmick.

Does anyone actually read tickers any more, especially first thing in the morning?

Hopefully there's a better end to that music sting rather than just fizzling out. I like the use of the shape for the wipes, though it keeps reminding me of a 'D' which makes me think
Daybreak

I would say tickers are perfect for breakfast TV, but of course it all depends how you use them. Certainly if they're planning to use the strength of more regional news, it would be a good start.

So would it be possible for a ticker during the break? That would push it further!

I don't think this has been posted yet, but just in case you haven't seen it... it looks like they are going to have some kind of roadshow with a game:

Good Morning Britain is travelling around the UK giving members of the public the chance to come and visit us on location and even to play and win prizes.
On Monday 28th we’ll be in Leeds Kirkgate Market from 6am to 9.25am. Registration to play our games is expected to begin from 6.50am. There are limited spaces available and not everyone will get to play or be seen on the programme. Participation times will vary and further terms will apply on the day.
We’ll be playing the Spinning Wheel game. We will be operating a random selection to determine who gets to play the game. It's first come, first served and then we’ll check eligibility and if you’re eligible and one of the first 5 to then you’ll be put into our random draw to play the game.
To take part in the games, you must be 18 or over to participate and can’t be an ITV employee or relation of an ITV employee and you must be available to play the games at the times our production team require. You must also agree to be filmed and sign the release form and any other forms provided by our production team. We can use any film however we like and there will be no payment.
In the event of dispute, our production team’s decision will be final.
Where will we be for the rest of the week?
Tuesday - Saffron Walden, Essex
Wednesday - Newark Market, Nottinghamshire
Thursday - Dundee - World Village Market
Friday - Grainger Market, Newcastle

Don't Sky Sports News keep the surrounding graphics on during the adverts these days? During Soccer Saturday at least.

It would be great - but presumably it would mean the regions would have to opt out for the whole of the programme, so not sure how feasible it would be. I guess it's a different set-up in the States as the affiliates transmit everything themselves.
