So, GMTV was seemingly forced to keep its on-screen farewell low-key, after nearly eighteen years on-air (during at least some periods of which, it was popular and successful).

And yet after a mere three years or so on-air, the perpetual flop that has been Daybreak is seemingly going to be allowed a greater degree of on-air farewell acknowledgement?

Makes a lot of sense... Rolling Eyes

I don't think it's worth worrying about to be honest. It's probably just to fill time in true Daybreak style Wink

Perhaps they've looked back and thought they wrong that time or perhaps it's different people making the decision.

People are allowed to change their mind.

I think the reason for the farewell is to make the transition between Daybreak and GMB much better. Instead, a very low key send off there trying to portray it like an evolutionary journey to a brand new show with Ben chatting about it along with the fact that most of the on air team is staying with GMB. I think one of the major backlashes amongst the viewers was they way GMTV was simply unceremoniously axed which didn't help matters when Daybreak started to falter in the ratings in the weeks after the initial launch.

I believe having a farewell tomorrow is the right thing to do whether it was unfair that GMTV got a rubbish send off back in 2010. Interesting, how there is slightly more promotion this week with the various TV appearances tomorrow and national press coverage. Given that Daybreak this week has barely managed to average 500,000 viewers it is hard predict what GMB's launch show will achieve. I highly doubt it will achieve that 1 million mark Daybreak achieved. Anything above 700,000 threshold would be reasonable given ITV Breakfast's decline in the past year.

Viewing figures will be down to curiosity only for most. Im surprised they have decided to make it known on air it is all change Monday. Which may affect viewers decision on what to watch Monday, rather than tuning into Daybreak Monday morning, only to see a different programme and make their decision then.

If you've got people to watch out of curiosity on day one, you've got a chance they'll stay. If no one is curious in the first place they won't.

Can someone not be curious on day 2? Day 10? Day 534? What is the benefit of hooking people from day 1 when the show will most likely evolve over time?

Could somebody please record these interviews tomorrow? Sadly, won't be at home to watch - would be much appreciated by myself and many other members

I will publish the final moments of Daybreak on my Youtube channel Smile

It's easier to give something a push when it's new so it would be a wasted opportunity not to do it before the press turn on it.

The sooner it starts delivering ratings the sooner ITV starts increasing profits.

They've not given it a major push, just a few interviews here and there.

I think it could be a massive mistake having relief presenters on a Friday, rather than securing 5 day week contracts for the 4 main presenters, appears that the presenting schedule will see Ben, Susanna and Charlotte off on a friday. They need continuity, and a strong 5 day week presenting team, and I worry it could feel a bit weak on a Friday: a reason to just watch BBC Breakfast!

Have you been looking at the Wikipedia page? It says that Kate, Ranvir and John Stapleton are presenting Friday's with Sean. Someone has made that up, they have no idea. It has been confirmed that Ranvir will cover for Susanna on Friday's but there's been no formal announcements on Kate or John's roles (if they even have roles).

Ben on Daybreak tomorrow then and Susanna & Charlotte on This Morning later for an interview. Charlotte will be reunited with Eamonn temporarily.

Aren't Ben and Sean on Loose Women too?
