I think its a rather nice idea, and will make the show feel much less generic and the presenters will be like one big family. I agree though, it wont last long. Its a nice touch however!

Can't see that lasting.
It does sound like the sort of thing that will be dumped after a couple of months, but it shouldn't take too long to do.

I'm slightly confused by this, if they're going to keep up the illusion won't that mean recording a new version for each junction for every day? I like the idea as it's smoother than a straight cut but it seems a lot of effort to go to.

I give it three days before they hand over to someone whose got a different name to the person actually giving the local bulletin! So unrealistic to think this will work effectively!
I think people are coming to too many judgements pre-the first episode! I'm reserving judgement until I see the first episode. Probably me just being naive hoping It'll work!
They will have to record new intros to the regions each morning! What's wrong with 'the news where you are'?
Absolutely nothing...that's why I hate the current trend of the announcer pretending he's within the region before ITV's 6pm Regional News programme. It doesn't happen all the time but to me it's nonsense. I much prefer when they say something like 'and now the News from where you are'.
Nice to know GMB are putting effort into their intros though. They deserve genuine respect for that.
Edit - They deserve respect for more Regional News coming to GMB too.
